What you need to know to participate in the California Pears Care promotion.

The California Pears Care promotion is your opportunity to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer while growing your sales and strengthening your relationships with retailers. To help execute the promotion effectively, please read the following and provide the requested information.

The CPAB’s participation in the promotion:

1. The CPAB will make a contribution to Susan G. Komen for the Cure on behalf of the California pear industry. The contribution will be a flat amount of $25,000 based on 10% of the estimated industry-wide wholesale price per pound of $0.25, up to 1,000,000 pounds.
2. The CPAB will cover the cost of creating the art for your specific packaging.
3. The CPAB merchandising staff will build awareness of the promotion and seek commitments from retailers on your behalf. Of course, you are encouraged to develop your own relationships through use of the promotion as well.

How you can participate in the promotion:

1. Please download, print and complete the attached form and fax it to the CPAB office at 916-446-1063.
   
   Your information will help the marketing team prepare its sell-in strategies well in advance of the season.
   Please return your fax by April 23, 2010.
2. Provide MJR Creative Group with your packaging vendor’s printing specifications, so the art can be configured to your specific standards.
3. Provide year-end reporting of all promotion-related sales metrics, including:
   • type of package
   • number of packages sold
   • number of pounds sold
   • wholesale price per package sold
   • wholesale price per pound sold

This information is necessary to meet our contractual obligations with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
