![]()
Ingredients
6 tbsp pure maple syrup
1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp yellow mustard
3/4 cup ground allspice
2 large, ripe Bartlett pears, cored and sliced 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
4-6 individual ham steaks, about 1/2 inch thick
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine syrup, butter, mustard and allspice; cook over low heat for about 5 minutes. Place pear slices on grill over medium hot coals for about 2 minutes per side, basting with maple glaze during cooking. Remove from grill and keep warm. Cook ham steaks on grill for about 5 minutes per side, or until heated through and lightly browned, basting with glaze once or twice. Place ham on a platter and top with grilled pears. Drizzle glaze over top. Pork chops may be substituted for ham. Increase grilling time to 10 to 12 minutes per side.
